Leadership - elected leaders include the Section's President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, as well as members of the Nominating Committee. Other committee chairs are appointed by the Section's Executive Committee, which consists of the officers of the Section.
Bylaws - outline how the Section operates.
Elections - Section elections are conducted annually by electronic ballot. Members may be notified when elections are in progress through a variety of means, including email notification (where allowed by the member), newsletter announcements, and announcements by mail. As the parent organization for all APTA components (Chapters and Sections), APTA governance documents take precedence over component governance documents. APTA governance documents include Bylaws, Standing Rules, APTA Board positions and policies, and House of Delegates positions and policies.
APTA governing documents are accessible from the APTA website. Physical therapists, physical therapist assistands, and physical therapy students are also governed by APTA's Core Documents, such as guidelines for documentation, supervision, code of ethics, and others. These can also be found on APTA's website.
