A Beginners Guide to Home Health Virtual Course

APTA Home Health is pleased to announce the launch of a virtual course for entry into the home health setting, “Moving-In: A Beginners Guide to Home Health”. This virtual course will consist of two half days - 8 hours total of virtual synchronous training in the critical clinical skills needed to work in the home health setting.

Who Should Attend?
This course is tailored for students in the final 6-9 months of their DPT or PTA program who are exploring career options in home health. Recent graduates with a license who are considering home health are also welcome, as well as experienced PTs and PTAs interested in transitioning to home health from other settings or seeking virtual CEUs. Led by the ACHH faculty, this program offers an interactive, engaging, and informative learning experience focused on home health specific topics.The programming will include:

• Regulations,
• Defining homebound
• Vital signs and how to respond to abnormalities,
• Differential diagnosis,
• Evaluation, choosing and adapting outcome measures
• Intensity and how to achieve HIIT with minimal equipment
• Interventions strategies for the home
• How to engage the family and caregiver
• Interprofessional communication
• The use of Apps!

Anyone participating will be eligible to state on their CV that they have completed an 8 hour course in entry level home health skills, which is an excellent way to show your interest and desire to be a home health therapist. The first ever course is planned on April 5 and 6, 2025 from 8:00am - 12:00pm EST each day, both sessions are required.

Cost
The cost of the program is staggered depending on your educational status and whether you want to receive CEUs.  Those paying the top tier costs will also have a credit towards the cost of the Advanced Competency in Home Health Live Seminar should you decide that you want to further develop your home health skills. 

• Students in the final 6 -9 months from their DPT graduation - $25
• New grads within a year (CEUs NOT included) - $50
• PTs/PTAs thinking about moving into home health or wanting a good day of home health virtual CEUs - $125 (with $100 credit toward your ACHH Live Seminar if you register within 6 months of completing Basic Competency Course)

COURSE CANCELLATION POLICY: Registration for this course is limited. Full refunds will be provided for cancellations received in writing before March 14, 2025. Cancellations on or after March 15, 2025 and before March 31, 2025 will receive a 50% refund. There are no refunds for cancellations received on or after April 1, 2025, or for no-shows. APTA Home Health reserves the right to cancel the course up to one week prior to the course. In the event that the course should be cancelled, registration will be refunded in full.
