Course will be in the Building A on the ground floor. Franklin Pierce is in a single building. Franklin Pierce students will be greeting attendees on Saturday morning and will help individuals find the classroom, but there will also be signage to assist.

There is plenty of free parking at the course location.

Participants are responsible for their own reservations and travel arrangements.

Hotel Options:

We do not have a room block reserved, but there are a number of nearby, affordable, and comfortable options.

Transportation
:

Lyft and Uber are great options between the airport and your hotel, and typically less expensive than a cab.

Most of the hotels are not within easy walking distance of campus although they are not far. Cabs, Uber and Lyft are good options for transportation to campus if you are not traveling by car.

IMPORTANT: What to Bring

Come prepared for a lab-oriented course by bringing the following:

  • Blood pressure cuff and stethoscope
  • Tape measure
  • Wear lab clothes (bras and/or tops need to allow for assessing chest and heart sounds) for the entire weekend
  • Water bottle for quenching your thirst

Meals: Breakfast and dinner are on your own. We'll provide coffee/tea service in the morning, lunch, and an afternoon snack.

Sign-in twice daily: Daily sign-in sheets will be circulated in the morning and in the afternoon to verify your attendance for continuing education credit. Make sure that you sign in during each period. You are expected to attend this course in its entirety in order to receive credit.

Demonstration Tests & Follow-up: You'll be asked to demonstrate skills on-site during the course. You'll also be asked to complete a multiple-choice post-test online and an online course evaluation. The link for the course post-test will be available in the APTA Learning Center per the instructions provided by APTA. The Home Health Section will send you an email message with a link for the evaluation.

Presentation Slides [Choose your format below and Right-Click to Download]: Presentation slides are provided for your convenience and future reference. We recommend copying them to a device you plan to use at the course. Note that the presenters may revise these slides between now and the course. If there are significant changes, we'll post an updated version of the slides here at the end of September.

PRESENTATION SLIDES (224 pages, 1 slide / page)

HANDOUT VERSION FOR NOTE-TAKING (75 pages): These are the same slides as in the PDF above, but formatted 3 slides/page with a place for notes. If you want a copy of the slides to print, this is probably the way to go!
