Preceptor AwardRationale: The purpose of this award is to acknowledge an individual that has been chosen by their agency/company to be a preceptor. This therapist demonstrates the unique qualities, high standards and clinical skills that are exemplary. They are organized and able to teach processes and procedures to newly hired staff, molding them into confident and talented home care clinicians. Criteria: To be eligible for this award, the nominee must: 1. Be a current member of the APTA Nomination Process: Any current member of the Home Health Section may nominate a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant who meets the award criteria. Nomination packets should include: 1. One or more letters of nomination addressed to the Home Health Section office describing how and why the nominee meets the criteria. a. How long has this nominee been a preceptor to newly hired staff? Provide examples of their processes and procedures for teaching. The Home Health Section office must receive complete nomination packets by January 1, 2020. Selection Process: The Nominating Committee will review Nominations and the chair will present the Committee's recommendation to the Home Health Section Board of Directors for approval. Presentation: The award will be presented following the Business Meeting during APTA Combined Sections Meeting, usually held in February of each year.
